The Student Technology Leadership Program has been implemented into all
six schools.
Students who participate in the program learn various technology skills and concepts
and share their
knowledge with teachers, administrators and other students.
They also work on various community
projects which benefit the students and
members in the community.
One such project is "Tech-Knowledge Day." On this
special day, elementary STLP students invite their
grandparents to the school to
take part in a technology learning adventure. The students instruct their
grandparents on basic computer skills and use of the internet. This has proven
to be a very rewarding
experience for the students as well as the grandparents.
The Student Technology Leadership Program helps students
to become leaders in their schools.
They help with troubleshooting and computer maintenance in the schools and provide
support for
teachers and students. They provide assistance to teachers and students
during technology projects
and complete various multimedia projects for teachers
to utilize in their classroom instruction.
