We just finished our unit on Dinosaurs last Friday and now we're finishing our final thoughts about Earth Day and Easter tomorrow. There's been some interesting weather days lately and we've also enjoyed watching and learning about the weather radar on WKYT's website. We will be celebrating mother's on Friday May 6. We will invite our mom's and grandmother's to eat lunch and to stay and enjoy some words of appreciation. The end of the year is closing near and I hope everyone has enjoyed spending thier Kindergarten year with me. I know I have surely enjoyed spending my first year with all of you!!!!! Thank you for your kindness and support!!!
February was a very busy month. Besides just catching up due to all the snowy days in January, we also had our Valentine's Party and our 100th Day Party. Both of which were funfilled days with lots of exciting learning activities!! We also enjoyed learning about our Presidents, Groundhog's Day, and Leap Year. This month we're focused on St. Patrick's Day, Read Across America/Dr. Seuss's B-day, and Spring. Spring Break is still sceduled for March 21 – March 25. I hope everyone has an amazing and safe break!!!
Well it feels like we've been out of school for the entire month of Jan. but it's slowly starting to look like the weather might be warming back up just a tad bit. I won't hold my breath but I will cross my fingers
. You will be receiving a letter tomorrow pertaining to our class Valentine's Party and an activity to do at home for the 100th day of school. Yes, we are actually approaching the 100th day!! Can't wait to get things back to normal. Hope everyone has enjoyed their extra time with their children.
I hope everyone has enjoyed thier Christmas Break. I know I have!!! We're heading back bright and early tomorrow morning and I can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces ; ) Don't forget we are having our class party tomorrow at 12:30. Everyone may wear their pajamas and please remember to bring a gift for the gift exchange. Party donations such as food, drinks, party favors, etc, are welcomed and yes parents are welcome to stay!! Looking forward to seeing everyone again!
It's been a very short week!!! I suppose we should just look at it as an extended break ; ) If we do miss tomorrow, Friday 17th, then we will postpone the class party till the very next day we are back in school. I would like to show the kids the Jim Carey movie, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," so if anyone would rather their child did not watch the movie please let me know as soon as possible. The students may still wear their PJ's that day as well. There will be one change to the original party schedule. Instead of having the party from 9:30 till 11:00 it will be from 12:00 to 1:45 to accomodate a full day of school as opposed to a half day. Hope everyone is enjoying these extra days out of school and has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ; )
Next week should be a very exciting week for us!! We're having a sing-a-long with the entire school in the cafeteria on Thurs. in addition to watching The Polar Express, having our class party on Friday at 9:30 right after brunch, and we're heading out for our long Winter's break at 11:30. To top all that off, we're also ending our 2nd nine-weeks grading period so be expecting a report card during the first week of Jan. So much to do and so little time! Not to mention we could very possibly have a snow day on Mon. or Tues.!! The excitement is just neverending lately : ) Hope to see everyone at the party on Friday. Don't forget to send in a gift for the gift exchange. Try not to spend more than $5 and boys should buy a boy gift and girls should buy a girl gift. If you'd like to donate any cookies, cupcakes, drinks, fruit, vegetable trays, etc. that would be more than appreciated!!!
The last few days of November will be spent wrapping up Thanksgiving lessons and crafts. Of course, December begins this week and that means Christmas and other holiday lessons and crafts will begin. The excitement builds all over again ; )
Thanksgiving break begins this Wed.!!!! Hope everyone has a really nice one!!!
Last week our class voted to have a dalmation puppy as our class mascot. They also voted on the name and her name is Goldie!! Goldie will be in charge for brightening up everyone's day. If a student comes in having a bad day or gets hurt at school Goldie will sit with them and cheer them up.
This week we will be discussing pilgrims. We will read stories about the Mayflower and have class discussions about the difficult travels the Pilgrims had to arrive in the New World. We are also preparing for a Feast so please send in any supplies you've signed up to donate. Thank you so much for your support.
This first week of November we will be discussing Election Day. Our class will vote on a class mascot. The students will decide what mascots they would like to choose from then they will vote on one.
