Ms. Caudill’s Fab First Grade!

The Cynthiana Fire Department's annual coloring contest winner was named this past Tuesday. The kindergarten winner for Eastside (pictured below) was a classmate in Ms. Caudill's and Mrs. Alyssa's kindergarten class. Congratulations!

Tuesday was Mrs. Childress' last day to work in our classroom. We have enjoyed having her. We wish her good luck at her new school. She will be going to Southside and working with a fourth grade class. We will miss you Mrs. Childress!

Mrs. Childress helped us use the SmartBoard on Tuesday! We used it to complete a seek and find game. We looked for nocturnal animals. It was nighttime though and they were hard to find! Did you know that nocturnal animals use camouflage to help them hide from preditors at night? They also have other senses and abilities that help them to survive in the dark! Here are some pictures of us using the SmartBoard to find the animals in their nighttime habitat!

We will be having our Halloween Party Friday, October 30th! Due to our Friday afternoon schedule, we will have it in two parts! Students may either wear their costumes to school or get dressed after lunch. We will have ghoulish games and fun from 11:45 – 12:30. At 12:30 we will go to Computer Lab. At 1:30 we will come back together for some Frightening Food! We will wind our party up at 2:00 when we head to PE! Donna or Alyssa will be in touch with parents as to specific items needed for our party. We will be ordering pizza for our snack so parents will be asked to donate $1.00 to help cover the cost. We will order a Beast from Snappy! If you would like to send individual treats or treat bags for classmates, please feel free to do so. We are looking forward to a scaringly good time!
