Meet our horse, "Hoofed on Phonics"! We used letter stickers of all kinds to make our horse. The horse was given to Hospice to be used in their annual fund raiser. We had a great time sticking stickers for a wonderful cause!

Way to go!!! Ms. Caudill's and Mrs. Alyssa's kindergarten students had the best attendance for kindergarten during the first 20-day month! Attendance is an important part of achieving success in school! Keep up the GREAT work!
Last Friday, September 10th, we enjoyed a great day with our grandparents! Our grandparents helped us complete an art project titled "Me and Grand, Hand in Hand".
After we completed our handprint activity we presented one of our favorite stories, The Squeaky Old Bed, to our guests using puppets! We think this story is VERY funny!
After our performance we were quite hungry! We enjoyed a great lunch prepared by our wonderful cafeteria friends with our grandparents. We had a GREAT day!
We are off to a GREAT start in Ms. Caudill's and Mrs. Alyssa's kindergarten class! We have completed the Start Smart section of our reading series and are well into Unit 1! We are working with our first letter sound – /m/ and have learned the sight words I, am, can, and we. We have covered themes including "Welcome to Kindergarten", "Exploring the World with My Senses", "Homes and Habitats" and "Families". In math we have been introduced to and explored all of our manipulative materials. We have made graphs of our names and of the boys and girls in our class. We have identified other things in our world which we would like to graph in the future. We have worked with the numbers 0 to 5 in depth and learned many ways to put them together and take them apart! We love to write and our stories are growing each day! Grandparents' Day is tomorrow and we have a lot in store for our many visitors! We can't wait!
