Dear Parents,
Each year at this time a new group of students eagerly waits their turn to join the band. The study of music could be one of the most valuable steps in your child’s education. Some of the benefits your child could receive from it are responsibility, mental discipline, teamwork, self-esteem, and above all enjoyment and lifelong appreciation of music.
Our beginning band class is now being organized. Your child will need just two things to start: an instrument and instrument book. For your convenience, arrangements have been made with Don Wilson Music Company to provide a low cost rental-purchase program.
Here’s How It Works: You select the instrument desired and you may rent that instrument on a monthly basis, either returning it at any time or applying all rental fees to its purchase. The monthly rental prices are $30.00 monthly for the flute, clarinet, trumpet and trombone. $25.00 monthly for all percussion and drum kits, $45.00 monthly for the alto saxophone and oboe and $55.00 monthly for the tenor saxophone and French horn. This is your monthly payment + and insurance policy rolled up into one with no interest..
Informational Meeting
A representative from Don Wilson Music will be in the middle school library Thursday April 18, 2013 from 4-7 to reserve your instrument and give information on the program. Not to worry if you can’t make the meeting. Contact Mrs. Lucky at home 588-5887 or school 234-7123 and discuss the instrument your child would like to play. You may also contact Don Wilson Music at 1-800-422-2637 and ask them to send you a contract for the instrument that you wish to rent-purchase.
A letter is being sent home today for you to sign enrolling your child into class. Please sign and return that letter to your elementary school as soon as possible so that we can schedule your child for middle school classes.
This is an exciting time. Don’t let fear of a new school keep your child from band. Sixth grade will be their only opportunity for beginning band. Please call if you have any questions. I can’t wait to get next year’s band up and playing!!!
I know that instruments are expensive. We work with a company in Lexington (Don Wilson Music) who has a rent to own plan that makes purchasing a breeze. The first payment and contract can be sent anytime this summer. Affordable monthly payments will start in September of the next school year. I suggest we rent to own slightly used instruments
Here’s How It Works: You select the instrument desired and you rent to own the instrument on a monthly basis, either returning it at any time or applying all rental fees to the purchase. The monthly rental prices are $30.00 a monthly for the flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, ($2600 goes toward the payment and 4.00 is insurance) $25.00 monthly for all percussion and drum kits, $45.00 monthly for alto saxophones and oboes, and $6500 monthly for the tenor saxophone and French horn. This monthly payment also includes an insurance policy to repair damages and loss.
Pros to renting to own:
• We know that the instrument you are getting is in great shape and guaranteed. They will work with you to get what you want.
• The payments you make on one horn can be switched to another horn if needed.
• They come get the instrument and bring it back if a repair is needed without you running to Lexington.
• You don’t have to pay the repair charge. Many start around 30.00 The insurance even covers, theft, lost items or fire.
• You can return the horn at any time and not have to pay another dime. You rented it for the amount of time it was used.
• The instrument is yours when you make the final payment and you only pay 1 and ½ percent interest on the entire thing.
I started band on my cousin’s old clarinet. Many family members have instruments just waiting to be played. You are also welcome to look in the paper or at 2nd hand shops. (Please be careful!!!) Some instruments in catalogues or on the internet can’t be repaired. I had two instruments that came from internet purchases 2 years ago that had parts that were not made in America and could not be repaired by our music company. Many music companies will not repair Walmart instruments either and unfortunately students do drop them and they need to be fixed.
