Second Grade Testing & Upcoming Field Trip

May 5th, 2012 by Administrator

This week we are testing each morning. Please try to have your child go to bed early and eat a good breakfast. We plan on doing the following tests this week:
Monday: Reading Street Baseline test
Tuesday: Math Common Assessment
Wednesday: Reading Common Assessment
Thursday: Part of GMADE ( math assessment)
Friday: Depends on how the students are doing whether we do more
or wait til following week. Our Fun Friday activity (for those earning it with 0 /1 refocus forms) will be outdoor games & popsicles. Students may bring in outdoor toys.

Because we are testing this week, we will not have spelling words or homework. Please continue to have your child read, or read to your child, a few minutes each evening.
In the afternoons we will continue with our Kentucky unit, particularly as related to Ky’s horse industry. We had a great derby on Friday. Thanks to all that sent in items for hats, and helped his/her child dress for his/her part in the derby. To wrap up our unit we look forward to our field trip. We will be going to Kentucky Horse Park on Monday, May 21st.
