March 30 – April 3

No School the week of March 30 through April 3!  We will return to school on Monday, April 6th.  Enjoy your time off and have lots of fun.  Please read a book to  your child  every night!  

Ask your child if they are in need of glue, pencils, crayons or scissors.  Some are in need.

READING:  Max Takes the Train by Rosemary Wells.  We are talking about ways to travel and learning about realism and fantasy.

PHONICS/PHONEMIC AWARENESS:  LETTER Ww   We are working on rhyming words and beginning and ending sounds.

WORD WALL:  yellow, blue, green, have

WRITING/GRAMMAR:  Questions/Asking sentences

THEME:  Transportation

MATH:   dividing by sharing

            Identifying and ordering numbers

            Comparing numbers through 10

            Making an ABBC pattern using pattern block

SHARED READING:  If You Could go to Antarctica.  This story takes us on a trip to the continent of Antarctica.  We will be discussing animals, weather and sites you see in Antarctica.  We also will be working on the comprehension skill of main idea.

PHONICS:  Letter Ee

Making words with the  short /e/ sound.  

WRITING/GRAMMAR:  Telling sentences

Math:

Making ABC patterns, counting by 5's and identifying a nickel, counting nickels to $25, identifying a cylinder and ordering objects by height, and creating an ABC sound and movement pattern.

THEME:  Seasons and weather
