Hope everyone is safe this afternoon after the storm blew through.  We took shelter as a precaution in the basement and things turned out just wonderfully!  Compliments to the kids for their great behavior even though it was very hot and many of them had to use the restroom. Smile

A few reminders, parent teacher conferences are scheduled for November 4th.  I have sent home your scheduled time with your child.  I have also sent home new scholastic book orders for the month of November.  This a great idea for Christmas gifts and the books are very reasonably priced.  Also, don't forget we have NO SCHOOL on November 2nd for Election Day.  We will also be having out Halloween party on Friday. Please do not allow your children to wear masks, face paint or bring any props to school with their costume.  We are trying to make this a "low key" day and have a great time doing so.

Have an enjoyable rest of the week and weekend!

Hope everyone enjoyed a great week off with your children.  I know I had a wonderful week with my family as well.  From the children's stories it sounds like they all had a good time too!  We are getting back in the swing of things and the students are settling back in nicely.  We are back in our reading books this week.  Be looking for those tonight and please practice the first story with your child.

Just a few important things to know….report cards will go home today with your child.  There will also be a note sent home about parent teacher conferences.  I encourage each of you to fill out the attached form to help me meet the needs you feel are important for your child as well.  Red Ribbon Week is next week.  Please help your child participate in the daily activities to fight drugs! Have a great week…

October 5

As you all know, we have not been doing a story from our reading book this week.  This is due in part to us being gone for our field trip on Friday.  We would not have been able to get assessments done, otherwise.  So……we have been learning about APPLES!  We are all looking forward to our field trip on Friday to Evan's Apple Orchard.  We hope to see many things that we have talked about and get to eat some tasty apples!

Some important things to know……pictures will be taken before we leave on Friday morning so please be returning picture envelopes if you have not done so.  Fall break is next week, October 11-15.  We will start back in our reading book when we return so be looking for the weekly newsletter this week.  Hope you all have a splendid rest of the week!

Thanks to all who helped at the fall festival and to Mrs. Etienne for setting up and planning our booth….it was much appreciated!
