Mrs. Teegarden’s Trails

Well, we are missing days of school again.  It seems like we are never going to get back in the swing of things.   Just wanted to let you know we will be moving on to another story next week.  The first grade teachers decided that three weeks trying to finish one story was too much so we are not going to do any assessments for Ruby in Her Own Time.  We will begin Jan's New Home on Monday with hopes to get a full week in.

Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the days off, but please remember to READ, READ, READ so you don't get behind. Keep warm and I can't wait to see smiling faces when we get back to school!

Well, it seems like we had been gone for the summer instead of Christmas break.   I sure was excited to get back here yesterday and see all the children's excited faces.  They were all so eager to talk about their Christmas' and I couldn't wait to hear about them.  I would like to commend their excellent behavior yesterday.  I was a bit curious how the day would go with such a long break, but they were WONDERFUL!  I couldn't have asked for a better day back.  

We are back into our reading book this week.  This week we will be reading An Egg is an Egg.  Assessments will be as usual on Friday with spelling, dictation, reading, and math.  Please encourage your child to read every night in order for them to progress as needed.  

A few reminders, report cards will go home tomorrow and there will be NO SCHOOL on January 17 for Martin Luther King Day.  However, we are asked to remind you that we WILL be in school for President's Day.
