This week we will not be doing a reading story.  We will be doing several assessments that I will use for the end of the school year. We will also be reviewing things that were previously learned throughout the year.  In math this week we will be working on reviewing time and money skills. Students will be having fun day on Friday from 10:30 until 11:30.

A few reminders, there will be NO SCHOOL for students next Monday for Memorial Day.  Tuesday afternoon will be Field Day and then Friday will be the last day of school.  School will be dismissed half day for students.  They are counting down the days but please continue to encourage them to do their best since we have a week of very important tests coming up.

Have a great week!

This week we will be reading Ben Franklin and His Kite.  Our spelling words this week will have the prefixes re- and un-.  This will be the last reading story we will be doing this year.  I plan on using the last couple weeks to complete end of the year assessments and finish up some activities that we didn't get completed along the way.  We will use these last weeks to review several different topics and tie up loose ends with some things.  This week in math we will continue to review topics that we have previously learned.  We will be covering measurement this week.

Don't forget that we DO NOT have school tomorrow for Election Day.  There will also be no school on May 31st for Memorial Day.  Keep reading and reading with your students and encouraging them to do their best work even as the year is winding down.  These last few weeks are very important for them as we will be working on several assessments for the end of the year.  Thanks for your continued support you give them!

Have a great week!!!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Mother's Day weekend!  I know I enjoyed spending lots of time with the whole family.  This week in spelling our words will have the dipthong oi,oy.  We will be reading Simple Machines and talking about different things, such as wheel and axle, levers, inclined plane, that make work easier.  In math this week, we will be reviewing graphing skills.  Students will not have the normal homework again this week or for the coming weeks.

A few reminders:  if you would like to order Scholastic books, the orders are due back this Friday.  There will be no school next Tuesday, May 17th, for election day.  There will also be no school May 30 for Memorial Day.  The year is quickly coming to a close so please continue to encourage and support your child to finish the year strong! Have a great week!

Hello to all! Hope everyone had a great weekend.  This week we will be reading Dot and Jabber and the Great Acorn Mystery.  We will be working on the oo sound in the word book for spelling words this week.  Math will be different than what you have been seeing from here on out.  We have completed all the Saxon math lessons and will be going back to complete some we missed.  Homework may be a bit different as well as we get farther out towards the end of the year.

A few things to take note of:  we will have a testing pep rally on Friday to pump up the students who will begin testing the following week.  There will be NO SCHOOL on May 17th for Election Day.  There will also be NO SCHOOL on May 30th for Memorial Day.   As the year winds down we will be having several special events so I will let you know the dates of those so they can plan according in the coming weeks.

Have a great week! Bye
