This is a reminder for all students and the families of students of the Harrison County School System. The first day of school in Harrison County is Thursday, August 12.

Our schools have implemented all recommended safety measures and we are prepared to serve our students in-person. Just like last year students will be asked to maintain social distance, use regular hand sanitization practices, and report any symptoms of illness to the school nurse or their teacher.

All students and all school personnel will be required to have a mask. Everyone should understand that there will be times throughout the day that students and staff will be required to mask.

Masking protocols can and will change depending on the local conditions of Covid-19 in our schools and community. Currently public health orders require masks to be worn while riding on school buses.

We are also requiring masks of all staff and students when they enter and exit the buildings, transition the halls, and cannot maintain a safe social distance of three feet or more.

We refer to this masking protocol as MS2(Masking Stage 2). It is part of our larger Safe Return to In-Person Learning & Continuity of Services Plan which can be found at https://bit.ly/3xpEpEN.

If you have any questions regarding your child's return to in-person learning next Thursday, please contact your child's school early this week.

Your teachers and our entire education team look forward to greeting and engaging our students when they return to in-person learning on Thursday, August 12. Thank you for the opportunity to serve our youth and help contribute to a brighter future.
