5th grade parents see below for information about Camp Middle School!
For safety purposes after school activities that start immediately after the school day end will continue as normal. Activities that start after 4 of which you would return to the school to participate in will be canceled.
We have been notified by law enforcement of a community situation that has prompted the implementation of safety measures for students. The message indicates that, as of this afternoon, specific guidelines will be followed until further guidance is received from the local law enforcement. Here is a breakdown of the information:
Transportation: Busses will still be transporting students as normal but they will follow rerouted paths which could cause a delayed drop-off.
Walking Restriction: No Students will be allowed to walk, This is to ensure that students are kept within a controlled and secure environment. Parents of Middle School and High School walkers may pick up their student at the school or they will be released when the all clear is given.
The decision to implement these measures is based on prioritizing the safety of the student population in the community. It is important to follow the guidelines until further information or guidance is provided by local law enforcement. We will keep you informed.

Today, we had Tracy Laughner with Plan Ahead Smiles come and talk to our 1st and 2nd graders about the importance of good oral hygiene skills. We lose a lot of teeth here at school and she reminded them that the teeth that come in are their "Grandma and Grandpa" teeth that they will have the rest of their lives.
Officer Mark Branham with the Cynthiana Police Department stopped by Southside today to meet some of our wonderful students.
Menu for August 28 - September 1
We are trying a new activity on Fridays. Mrs Kiskaden's 3rd graders are coming to read to Mrs. Thornton's kindergartners. This is a wonderful opportunity for our older kids to practice their reading skills to improve their confidence, accuracy and fluency. Our kindergarten students look up to the older kids and can't wait until they can read back to their friends. What a blessing to both groups of kiddos and the adults that get to witness this.
It was story time in Mrs Thornton's room today. They enjoyed the book "One Happy Classroom" and are already learning important literary terms such as setting, theme, character, author, and illustrator. These kids are getting settled in and starting down their educational path.
Today, we had our first bus evacuation drill of the year as well as our first fire, severe weather, and earthquake drills. Our first job is to keep our kiddos safe. They were rock stars! #youarelovedandyoumatter #weareharrison
We had a great first day of school!
