It was story time in Mrs Thornton's room today. They enjoyed the book "One Happy Classroom" and are already learning important literary terms such as setting, theme, character, author, and illustrator. These kids are getting settled in and starting down their educational path.

Today, we had our first bus evacuation drill of the year as well as our first fire, severe weather, and earthquake drills. Our first job is to keep our kiddos safe. They were rock stars! #youarelovedandyoumatter #weareharrison

We had a great first day of school!

Southside Pre-K, kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders welcomed author/illustrator Amanda Driscoll today. Her works include “Duncan the Story Dragon”, “Little Grump Truck”, “Wally Does Not Want a Haircut”, and “Klondike Do Not Eat Those Cupcakes”. Thanks to Mrs. Hunt and the other elementary librarians for coordinating such a fun experience for our kids. #SouthsideProud

🍎 Some of Southside's students spent the day celebrating Johnny Appleseed’s birthday with books, crafts, writing, making/tasting homemade applesauce. 🍎

Our 4th grade students are off to overnight Environmental Camp. We can wait to hear all about their adventures!

It takes the whole village. When Mark Pergram, district maintenance specialist, saw a student walking to school this morning he stopped and gave him a ride. It wasn’t a school bus, but the ride was maybe a little more fun. #SouthsideProud

Due to extensive illness of students and staff, we are going to postpone tonight’s math night. We will announce a new date once it is confined. We hope all of our friends feel better soon.

Some of our first grade students constructed leprechaun traps today in hopes of capturing one for St. Patrick’s day.
