As a special education teacher at Westside Elementary, Mrs. Winkle exemplifies dedication and service in all she does. Congratulations to Scott May, well-deserved recipient of the Golden Horseshoe Award! Mr. May, a custodian at Harrison County Middle School, is deeply respected by everyone in the school community. His colleagues and students speak highly of his dedication and pride in his work. Known for consistently performing his duties with excellence, Mr. May not only keeps the school in top shape but also mentors students and inspires them to believe in their own potential. He leads by example, never complaining and always going above and beyond. HCMS is truly fortunate to have such an outstanding role model.

Harrison County Schools located on the hilltop were briefly on a soft lockdown. At approximately 12:15 PM today, the district was notified by local law enforcement that they were searching for a person of interest in the surrounding area.
Please rest assured that all students and staff were safe and secure within the school building as a precautionary measure. Once we received the all clear from law enforcement at 12:30 PM we resumed our normal schedule.

Leann Brannock, recipient of the Golden Horseshoe Award, is celebrated for her dedication to ensuring that every student enjoys learning and is successful in her classroom. Her passion for making math fun and engaging shines through her work, and she is truly 100% about the students. Mrs. Brannock goes above and beyond to inspire her students while also being a tremendous source of support for her colleagues who cannot say enough about her generosity, encouragement and friendship. She is a true asset to her school and an inspiration to all.
Rosie Carson, a dedicated custodian and bus driver, is a proud recipient of the Golden Horseshoe Award. Known for her commitment to her work and genuine care for the students, Rosie goes above and beyond in every task she undertakes. Her hard work and passion are evident in her daily interactions, where she consistently shows love for the students and pride in her role. Rosie’s dedication makes her not only deserving of this award but a true inspiration to all who know her.
