Thank you to our student leaders for presenting at the EDUCON conference today on EKU's campus. Educators and administrators from Central Kentucky were able to learn from our HC students the importance of student voice and leadership opportunities.

Harrison County FFA has three students competing at State Convention (June 9-12) in the most prestigious award areas. Reece Palmer is competing in the State Star in Agribusiness award area. John Michael Furnish is competing in the State Star in Agriculture Placement award area, and Sadie Perkins is competing in the State Star Farmer award area. Each student was selected as the winner in the Northern Kentucky Region and has the opportunity to compete at state. These students have had to complete a (very detailed) Proficiency Application and will undergo intense interviews against the best of the best FFA members from across the state. They have had to show significant growth in their Supervised Agricultural Experience projects over all their years in FFA (including Middle School). Goodluck HCHS Students, we are proud of you! #weareharrison

There’s so much to say about Alicia Glenn. As an assistant at Harrison County Middle School and track coach, she goes above and beyond every single day. Alicia has a gift for connecting with kids, especially the ones who need it most. Some of our most challenging students light up when she’s around. She listens, supports and pushes them to be their best.
When things get tough, you can count on Alicia. She shows up without being asked, ready to help however she can. Whether it’s calming a student down, covering a class, or just offering a little encouragement, she’s always there. She doesn't do it for recognition she does it because that’s just who she is. Alicia makes a difference in ways that can't always be measured, but are deeply felt. We’re lucky to have her and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the Golden Horseshoe.

Kim Jenkins is the heart of our community. Her commitment to student success, her dedication and her willingness to lend a helping hand make her truly one of a kind. Kim approaches everything she does with care and compassion. Whether she’s supporting a student through a tough moment, jumping in to assist a colleague, or working with a team to solve a challenge, she brings warmth, positivity and a can do spirit that lifts everyone around her. She has a natural gift for collaboration, always making others feel included and valued. Her door is always open and she takes the time to listen, understand and offer support — not because she has to, but because she genuinely cares. Kim’s impact is felt every day, in big ways and small ones. She makes our school district a better place through her kindness, reliability and focus on helping others succeed. We are so proud to recognize Kim with the Golden Horseshoe Award — a well deserved honor for someone who gives so much to everyone around her.
