Kentucky school districts combined their efforts to collect coats for families in Eastern KY who were affected by flooding this past summer.
“It just spoke to my heart when one of our eastern Kentucky superintendents was like, nobody is thinking about that, and if we have money for coats, then we can focus on food. So, you are not talking about fancy needs. You are talking about your basic survival needs,” said Jenny Lynn Hatter, Chief Academic Officer, Harrison Co. Schools.

Governor Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, in observance of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is in memory and honor of the more than 2,400 Americans who died in a surprise attack on the U.S. Naval fleet’s Pearl Harbor base in the early-morning hours of Dec. 7, 1941. President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared Dec. 7, 1941, “a day which will live in infamy” and signed the Declaration of War against Japan the following day, Dec. 8th.

Last Friday night at Central Office our 30 ELL/ESL students and families enjoyed their Holiday Party! A huge thank you to our wonderful Ms. Clapp, who runs our program and who made holiday cookie decorating fun for our sweet students!
