Our awesome 6th-grade ELA students, fresh off reading S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders, brought the world of Tulsa to life Friday! We had Greasers and Socs walking the halls, showing off their favorite looks and proving that despite the differences in their social groups, the story's themes of friendship, family, and understanding are truly timeless. Great job symbolizing these classic characters! Thank you, Mrs. Marshall and Mrs. Campbell, for bringing this story to life!

Today, our 8th graders put their financial literacy skills to the ultimate test in our annual Reality Store simulation!
Students were given a hypothetical career, salary, and family scenario, and then had to navigate the ups and downs of adult budgeting. They visited different "stores" and made real-life decisions about:
🏠 Housing (Rent or mortgage?)
🚗 Transportation (New car or used?)
🍎 Groceries & Utilities
This hands-on experience taught them valuable lessons about budgeting, making tough choices, and the true cost of living. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this important simulation a success!

Yesterday, we paused to honor and thank the brave men and women who have served and protected our nation. To all our veterans, we are grateful for your sacrifice, dedication, and service. Thank you!
HCMS students participated in a meaningful virtual Veterans Day program hosted by the Kentucky Historical Society. This experience allowed our students to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of this day and the stories of our Kentucky veterans.
