Mr. Grinch and all the Library Book Buddies enjoyed an overnight snowball fight at Northside!

On Tuesday, Mr. Grinch was making a mess, attempting to sell Hot Chocolate ahead of our Entrepreneur Fair. Hot Chocolate, made with real onions? Gross!

Each year, Mr. Grinch makes an appearance at Northside and starts his Christmas shenanigans. His mischief knows no bounds!
With the busyness of the week, we forgot to post our pictures of Mr. Grinch! Monday, Mr. Grinch makes his first appearance, having captured a Christmas Elf.

Check out Northside's Entrepreneur Fair! Students, parents, and guests are getting a little early shopping done. Our students have come up with some wonderful and creative ideas!
We hope to see you tonight at our Entrepreneur Fair and STEM Night from 5:30pm-7:00pm

Parents can also send money with their children on Thursday morning for them to shop the fair with their class. Most items are $1 to $2 the most expensive item is $10. Bring the family to school on Thursday evening.

For safety purposes after school activities that start immediately after the school day end will continue as normal. Activities that start after 4 of which you would return to the school to participate in will be canceled.

We have been notified by law enforcement of a community situation that has prompted the implementation of safety measures for students. The message indicates that, as of this afternoon, specific guidelines will be followed until further guidance is received from the local law enforcement. Here is a breakdown of the information:
Transportation: Busses will still be transporting students as normal but they will follow rerouted paths which could cause a delayed drop-off.
Walking Restriction: No Students will be allowed to walk, This is to ensure that students are kept within a controlled and secure environment. Parents of Middle School and High School walkers may pick up their student at the school or they will be released when the all clear is given.
The decision to implement these measures is based on prioritizing the safety of the student population in the community. It is important to follow the guidelines until further information or guidance is provided by local law enforcement. We will keep you informed.

If you are participating in our "Northside Thanksgiving Day Parade" please remember to bring your float or balloon to school on Monday or Tuesday morning.

Good day, Northside Families!
Friendly reminder that school is NOT in session tomorrow, November 7th, in observance of Election Day. Thank you!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Students will be reading the book “Balloons Over Broadway” during library class in the next few weeks. This book tells the story of how the Macy’s Day Parade Balloons began. We would like to challenge our students and families to make a balloon character or animal for our parade. Students should bring their balloons to school on Monday, Nov. 20th or Tuesday, Nov. 21st. Our parade will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 21st at 8:30 a.m. Students who are participating will carry their balloons in our parade.
What would a parade be without floats? Maybe a balloon is too much for you? I would love to also have some students make shoebox floats. The shoeboxes should be about “Thanksgiving” or “Christmas”. Each “float” should have a string for the student to pull it down the hall. I will be posting some examples on social media and showing the students in class. I want to give you plenty of time to begin planning your projects. These “floats” will also be due on Monday, Nov. 20th or Tuesday, Nov. 21st.
Remember, this is supposed to be fun and family engaging. All students who do participate will receive a small token of appreciation.
Good Luck and Happy Crafting,
Darla Grob

These members have been participating in the National Beta Founder’s Day Countdown. Each member completed about 14 random acts of kindness.
To end our countdown we participated in a nationwide service project.
Each Beta member read a Halloween themed book to every class at Northside Elementary. They even dressed up as their book character! 📚 🎃
They provided each student with a sweet treat & a coloring sheet that said “Make Today Count” 🍬🖍️

Hello, Northside Families! October 23-27, we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week, when we will share the message of the destructive power of drugs. Each day, students are invited to dress according to the theme of the day. Please see the attached flyer.
Have a great weekend, and we will see you next week!
P.S. -- As a friendly reminder, Picture Makeup Day is Monday the 23rd. If your child was absent on picture day they will have their picture taken. New students will have their picture taken as well. If you did not like your child’s pictures, please send the pictures back to Northside so we will know your child needs to do retakes.
