We have been notified by law enforcement of a community situation that has prompted the implementation of safety measures for students. The message indicates that, as of this afternoon, specific guidelines will be followed until further guidance is received from the local law enforcement. Here is a breakdown of the information:
Transportation: Busses will still be transporting students as normal but they will follow rerouted paths which could cause a delayed drop-off.
Walking Restriction: No Students will be allowed to walk, This is to ensure that students are kept within a controlled and secure environment. Parents of Middle School and High School walkers may pick up their student at the school or they will be released when the all clear is given.
The decision to implement these measures is based on prioritizing the safety of the student population in the community. It is important to follow the guidelines until further information or guidance is provided by local law enforcement. We will keep you informed.

Today, Westside 5th grade students hosted their annual Veterans Day program. While very well-attended, we know that not all of our veterans were able to attend. We honor you and thank you for your service.

It's always a great day when I get a primary student's clip! This means that they have been working hard, making good choices, being a good friend, trying their best! I've had 10 clips so far this year, and I look forward to many more!
